Many people in Shanghai had been waiting for July 22, 2009, when the longest total eclipse in the 21st century could be seen in Shanghai. However, the weather spoiled it. It had been clear for quite a few days before July 22. But in the morning of July 22, it became heavily cloudy. To lots of people's disappoiment, almost right before the eclipse happened, it started raining!
Mishandled poisonous chemical caused strong bad smell in Zhang Jiang
May 5, 2009. Around 2pm today, some quite pungent smell started spreading out in Medicine Valley (药谷) of Zhang Jiang Hi-Tech Zone (张江高科技园区). Some people who were close to the origin of the smell soon felt a little nauseate and sick.
