Hi there! I am the owner and founder of this site. My English name is James. I am a native Shanghainese.

The site has pretty much been built up and maintained by me alone. Most contents are original. My wife sometimes helps with some contents. That's why I put an"us" here :-)

I started the site at the end of 2007. I had seen the lack of information and resources for English speakers in Shanghai. So I thought I could do something. That was why I came up with this site. The other impetus was hoping that this site could provide some more income in addition to my current full-time job. But this goal seems quite remote yet. However I am quite proud of the site right now. You can search for restaurants and bars in this site. You can find an English Shanghai map here, with venues that you are interested labelled. And you can even hear some Chinese here. Yeah, the ugly voice that you heard was mine, sorry. I am planning to get my wife to work on this as well, so hopefully you will hear a female voice that sounds much better in the future.
