The building itself is quite unique. It has a circular top and a square body, in hornor of an ancient saying"The sky is round and the earth is square" that prevailed several thousands of years ago in China. Although this theory turned out to be incorrect, it reveals how Chinese people tried to understand and explore the world during their long five thousand of years history.
