UME International Cineplex is located in Xin Tian Di (新天地), where a lot of people have had many good hours as well as spent a lot of money. The cineplex was founded by a very sueecssful Hong Kong film producer and director. "UME" in its name means "Ultimate Movie Experience". You can tell from the name that they are pretty confident about the equipments that they put in the Cineplex.

Besides the best playback equipments, the decoration of the cineplex is also quite attractive. Lights and colors are used extensively. They make the whole cineplex dazzling enough but not disturbing. There are 6 rooms for playback but none of them looks the same. The cineplex itself is already a nice visual experience.

There are 6 screens in the cineplex. The maximum capacity is 1052. All the seats are adjustable so you can almost lie down while watching a movie. They also provide some "Lovers seat" for 10 RMB, where a couple can hold each other.

Everything in Xin Tian Di seems to be expensive. UME is not an exception. You can expect the tickets to be 10 or 20 RMB more expensive than other cinemas in Shanghai. Every Tuesday before 7pm, every Saturday and Sunday before 12pm are when they sell the tickets for half. And every Wednesday are "ladies day". If you are a couple, you only need to buy one ticket. In other words, half price for couples.
