Yong Hua Cinema City used to be called Paradise Warner Cinema City. It was co-invested by Warner Bros Inc. and Shanghai Film group in 2002. It was running very well - being the cinema with the highest revenue in China for 3 consecutive years. But in 2005, the policies against foreign invested cinemas changed a little bit and made it more difficult for foreign investors. Warner Bros Inc. decided to pull back from China. So the cinema then was completely owned by Shanghai Film group and the name was changed to Yong Hua Cinema City.
