Hospitals and clinics
There are a lot of hospitals in Shanghai, to meet the needs of the huge population. Most of them are owned by the government, 24 of them are private and only one of them is foreign, due to the fact that China has a lot of limitations upon foreign hospitals. However, there are several foreign clinics in Shanghai since establishing a clinic is not so hard as establishing a hospital.
A list of foreign hospitals and clinics.

Foreign hospitals and clinics can provide good service with good language support. But they are definitely very expensive. Some local hospitals have departments only for foreigners.

Hairdressing
You would not want to randomly pick a hair salon on the street for your hairdressing. Though usually quite cheap, they usually could not provide a good service and the guys there could barely speak English. And some hair salons with red or pink lights are those you really don't want to go in. They might not really provide hairdressing service, but some other service instead.

Hair salons in malls, however, usually are a lot better and some of them could provide nice service even to foreigners. And of course there are some international hair salons.
