The day before yesterday, a new coffee shop near Jing An Temple used this as a promotion method. From 12:30 to 13:30, anybody can get a "free" cup of Latte using his/her business as an exchange. The coffee was worth 25RMB. It turned out to be a very succesful promotion, probably because the owner had spreaded out the news on the Internet before the promotion actually started. At about 12:20, there was a long line of about 300~400 people waiting for the coffee!

Obviously many people had to wait a long time. At around 13:30, there was still a line of more than 100 people.

Why could there be some many people who would spend so much time for a cup of free coffee? Is it because there are too many poor people? I would say no. Real poor people here probably don't even own business cards at all. In my opinion, this just shows how much people like "FREE" stuffs in Shanghai.
