Another one of the big moves for Shanghai Shenhua football club (上海申花) has come to reality. Jean Tigana, the 56 years old France coach, has arrived in Shanghai and signed a one year contract with Shenhua. At a press conference held last night, Tigana said:"I felt fortunate that I did well during the transition from a player to a coach. I coached in places like England, Turkey, learned different cultures and ways of thinking. I think coming to China this time will be an exciting and wonderful experience."

 

There had been rumors that the annual salary of Tigana's coaching team will be 2.5 million euroes. When asked about this, Tigana answered:"I did not come here just for a high salary. I could have earned more in Englang and Turkey." The officials of Shenhua club did not say the exact number of the salary, but said the actual number was indeed close to 2.5 million euroes.

Since both Tigana and Anelka are French, he was also asked whether he had communicated with Anelka. Tigana answered no but said he would talk to him when he goes back to Europe. There has been a lot of rumors saying the Real Madrid mid-fielder Guti will join Shenhua. To this, Tigana kept his mouth shut.
