Statistics show that till yesterday, 6.15 million people have left Shanghai. This number includes the people who took trains, buses and planes. Those who drove out of Shanghai were not included. Because so many people have left Shanghai, the traffic has been a lot better. There are also less people on Metro. According to Shanghai Metro statistics, there were 4.91 million people taking Metro on Friday, 20th, 1 million less than usual days.

Traffic surely is not the only thing that's affected by the leaving of so many people. A lot of small shops and restaurants have been temporarily closed during the holiday. This could bring some inconveniences to the people who are still staying in Shanghai.
