Whampoa Club(黄浦会)
A quite expensive restaurant located at the No.3 of the Bund(外滩). What's good about this restaurant is the food itself and the serving of the food are westernized. Everybody can have his own set food. Some of the dishes are Shanghai cuisine but there are also some western dishes like goose liver. The decoration is quite good. If you sit along the windows, the view will also be great as you should be looking at the Bund and Lu Jia Zui(陆家嘴), which are probably the most attractive sights in Shanghai. It is said that Tom Cruise ate three times here when he was shooting "Mission Impossible 3".

Xiao Nan Guo(小南国)
Xiao Nan Guo is a very successful chain restaurants in Shanghai. One reason is that the food is quite traditional Shanghai, but also features some inventions. Another reason is the price is above average but affordable to lots of local people. There are more than 10 branches in Shanghai and almost each one is popular. Somehow Xiao Nan Guo has also been quite successful among western people with its traditional Chinese food and serving.

Ye Shanghai(夜上海)
Ye Shanghai means "Shanghai Evening". The food here is a fusion style of Shanghai cuisine and western cuisines. Can't say the food here is great. And they always serve only a little bit food for one dish. There are two reasons why I recommend this restaurant. The first is that it is a Shanghai cuisine restaurant located in Xin Tian Di(新天地), where you will of course pay a visit and is very hard to find another Shanhgai cuisine restaurant. The second and more important reason is that the atmosphere here is great. The traditional Shanghai style decoration under the dim light somehow gives a mysterious feeling, which might even make you feel like being to an imaginary old Shanghai, or just somewhere you never knew. Being here is definitely different from anywhere else in Xin Tian Di.
