Pacific Digital Plaza III is the best place to shop for computer and digital products in Pu Dong(浦东). It is located in a huge building, so the shops here usually have a lot more space than in other digital department stores. Shopping for digital products in Shanghai does not really always have to be like fighting for something in a large crowd :)

The categories of stuffs here look quite complete: computers&DIY, notebooks, cameras, cell phones and even Hi-fi equipments. But stuffs here are mostly those being popular. If you are looking for products of a certain brand or some high-end stuffs, then you might still need to pay Xu Jia Hui(徐家汇) a visit, where you can search them in Pacific I, Pacific II and Buynow.

Although Pacific III has been doing very well in Pu Dong, Buynow has put a new branch pretty close to it reacently. The competition is going hot in No.1 Yaohan(八佰伴) area.

It is pretty easy to get to Pacific III, take Metro No.2, No.4 or No.6 to Century Avenue Station(世纪大道站), cross Dong Fang Road(东方路) then Lao Shan Road(崂山路), you will find it right next to the Intercontinental Hotel.

Tips on shopping for computer/digital products.
1. Always get the quotations from at least 3 shops. Some shops might give a very high quotation seeing a foreigner. For most of the products, you can find them in more than one shops, so check the price as much as you can. Why do you have to pay more only because you are a foreigner?
2. Low end products, like flash cards, low end PC components, could be less expensive than in other countries. But high end stuffs like high end CPUs, display cards, monitors, are probably a lot more expensive than in US, Hong Kong, Japan. Remember to check the prices on websites like newegg before going!
