Metro Line 1

The Metro Line 1 was the first Metro line in Shanghai, as you can probably guess from the name. It was put into service in 1995 and was the only metro route in Shanghai for 6 years. It brought a lot of alleviations to the ground traffic and also made the areas along the line a lot more prosperous. The success of the line 1 has made Shanghai government decide to build more Metro lines.
