East Yan An Road Tunnel(延安东路隧道)
East Yan An Road Tunnel(延安东路隧道) is the most famous and the most crowded tunnel in Shanghai. It connects Lu Jia Zui(陆家嘴), the best area of Pu Dong(浦东), to the center of the city.

It was built in 1989 as a two-lane tunnel, 2261 meters long. In 1996, it was expanded to a four-lane tunnel (two two-lane tunnels actually).

The traffic is almost always heavy in this tunnel. During peak hours, there usually is a jam. Taxies are not allowed to pass during 7-9am and 4-6pm from Monday to Friday.
